Protect the source before editing

Keep the original until the final export has opened and played from start to finish. Editing, encoding and low storage can fail independently of capture. A verified export is the point at which a duplicate source becomes optional.

Review the raw recording for notifications, names, email addresses, account balances, location and private conversations. Crop or remove sensitive moments before adding visual polish.

Edit for the viewer's next action

A useful tutorial starts close to the first meaningful action and ends after the result is visible. Remove waiting, repeated attempts and accidental detours. Merge clips only when the order stays easy to follow. Use layers, text or Live Draw to point at the interface without covering the control the viewer needs to see.

For a bug report, keep enough context to reproduce the problem but avoid unrelated personal data. For gameplay, preserve the action and use narration only when it adds information the image cannot provide.

Export once, then verify

Repeated exports can lose quality and waste time. Choose the destination first, keep the original aspect ratio unless a platform requires another one, and avoid raising resolution above the source. After export, check sound, synchronization, text readability, transitions and the final frame.

• Open the export in a normal player.
• Listen with headphones for missing or doubled sound.
• Check the first and last seconds.
• Confirm that private content is gone.
• Only then remove source material you no longer need.
