Format, codec, HDR and high-resolution support is reported according to the device's actual capabilities.

Honest about compatibility
- Vidorec cannot browse your library. It opens only the file you choose, and never uploads media, file names or paths.
- MP4, MKV and WebM are containers; the video and audio codecs inside must also be supported.
- This file format is not supported.
- 4K and HDR playback depend on the device decoder, display, profile and media source.

Frequently asked questions
Does Vidorec upload my videos?
No. During normal local playback, selected media, file names, file paths and subtitle text are not uploaded.
Will every MKV or MP4 file play?
It cannot be guaranteed. The video and audio codecs, profile, resolution and device decoder matter in addition to the container.
Are background playback and PiP free?
Background playback, system media controls and Picture-in-Picture are part of the general player experience.
