Zoom and pan are viewing controls
Zoom magnifies the current frame without rewriting the video file. Pan moves the enlarged picture so you can inspect a corner or detail. Because the source pixels do not increase, extreme zoom reveals blur rather than creating detail that was not recorded.
Use a double-tap or reset control to return to the normal fit. If gestures conflict with seeking or brightness, begin from the center of the video and use a clear two-finger movement.
Picture-in-Picture belongs to the operating system
PiP places an eligible video in a floating system window while another app is in front. Android and Apple control availability, window behavior and transport controls. Device settings can disable automatic PiP, and a source can require linear playback or otherwise limit seeking.
Return from PiP through the system control when you want the full player. If PiP fails, check operating-system settings, app permission and whether the current source supports the mode.
Background playback and media controls
Background playback is most useful when the sound matters after the screen turns off or another app opens. The operating system can show play, pause and seek controls in notifications or the lock screen. Battery restrictions, audio focus and another media app can pause the session.
