Can every Android app's internal audio be recorded?

No. Android 10 or newer is required, and the source app's capture policy must allow its audio to be captured.

Can I record without granting microphone access?

Yes. Choose silent recording or eligible device audio. Microphone permission is needed only when the microphone is part of the recording.

Does screen recording upload my video?

Normal recording and editing happen on the device. Online features have separate, explicit data behavior described in the Screen Recorder privacy policy.

How to record your screen with audio

Choose the sound you actually need

Screen video and sound are separate inputs. Microphone mode records your voice and the room around you. Device-audio mode records eligible sound produced by an app or game. A mixed mode combines eligible device audio with the microphone, which is useful for gameplay commentary and narrated demonstrations.

If privacy matters, start with the narrowest source. A silent bug report often needs no microphone. A tutorial may need narration but not room audio. Vidorec also lets you record silently when microphone access is not needed.

Device audio: eligible game music, effects and app playback on supported Android versions.

Why internal audio can be silent on Android

Android introduced AudioPlaybackCapture in Android 10. The operating system still respects the source app's capture policy, audio usage and user profile. Banking, communication, DRM-protected and other privacy-sensitive apps may prevent their sound from being captured. A recorder cannot safely bypass that platform decision.

If a saved video has no device sound, test a known media or game app, confirm that device audio is selected and check the Android version. If the target app blocks capture, use microphone narration where appropriate or respect the restriction.

Android and iOS use different recording controls

On Android, Vidorec can expose notification and supported floating controls during a projection session. Newer Android versions also show a prominent system projection indicator and may stop projection when the screen locks.

On iPhone and iPad, Vidorec uses Apple's ReplayKit path. ReplayKit can record the screen with app audio and microphone where the system and source permit it. The system-wide recording indicator remains the authoritative way to stop an iOS capture. The Vidorec iOS download will be linked only after its public App Store release.

A reliable recording checklist

Record ten seconds before an important session. Play the test in headphones, confirm that both channels are present, and verify portrait or landscape orientation. Choose automatic quality first; high resolution, frame rate and bitrate depend on the device encoder, available storage and thermal conditions.

Enable Do Not Disturb if notifications must not appear in the video.
Use headphones to reduce echo when microphone and device sound are mixed.
Check free storage before a long recording.
Stop from the visible app or system control and wait for the file to finish saving.
Trim private moments before sharing the result.
